HISTORY: The Miriam was built at Tacoma, Washington in 1946 by J. M. Martinac Shipbuilding Corp. for Reuben C. Carlson of Tacoma, WA. and Fred Borowich was the master carpenter. Miriam has had six different names since her conception: Rely-T II, Cyvella II, Matai, Delight, Lou Ann IV, and back to her original name Miriam. Mike and Janie Horton have been the proud owner of Miriam since April, 1996. Currently in Alamitos Bay, Miriam has also called Los Angeles and San Francisco home after leaving Tacoma. She was Ted Geary's last designed fantail, originally single screw and single rudder now twin screw and rudder.
