I am searching for a good home to a Historic 1919 Mathis-Trumpy, The Grand Lady (Originally Riette II). As you may know she is one of the OLDEST TRUMPY YACHTS IN EXISTENCE. She in critical need of restoration/reconstruction and currently sits in the water in a plastic bladder in Satsuma FL. The owner of the Grand Lady just passed away last summer. We have only two and a half months to find the boat a home before she too slips away. This historic Trumpy needs the support of the maritime community NOW, so if you can help out in ANY way (brainstorming, referring me to people/resources/sites, forwarding this message, etc.) I would love your support. Wed, 3 Feb 2010 14:12:02 EST http://www.classicyacht.org/classifieds/detail.php?id=132 Classic Motoryachts : 47' Former Coastal Mission Ship http://www.classicyacht.org/classifieds/detail.php?id=131 This historic vessel was commissioned in 1929 and worked as an Anglican mission vessel out of Prince Rupert until 1962 when she was sold as a private yacht. She has a simple layout below deck with V-berth and shower up front and engine room below the pilothouse. The engine room houses the original Gardner 5L2 that still runs like a clock. The galley, dinette and salon are one large open space that is wonderful for entertaining or just lounging quietly. Back aft is a wonderful head compartment with vanity and across from it is an area that has been used as a single berth but is now being used for storage. The current owners also fitted the vessel out with a deck awning and a canvas and acrylic enclosure that turns half the deck into a large sun room. If you are interested in owning this historic vessel, either as a cruiser or a liveaboard or perhaps both, we would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Vessel is available with liveaboard moorage in Victoria Harbour. Please email for more details. Built by a well known custom wooden boat builder, it originated from a sketch found in D. W. Fostles book, Speedboat!! Measuring 19’4”long with a 4’9” beam, it is planked with red cedar and decked with African Mahogany. All hardware was custom made specifically for this vessel. When completed in 2000, this boat was originally powered with a V12 Jaguar engine that had been converted to marine use by the builder. It is presently powered by a 1934 Ford flathead V8. The Ford was the original choice for this boat but the V12 was completed at the same time as the hull, so the V12 motor was tested in this boat. It was quite overpowered with the V12, so the Ford was permanently installed. This amazing design by Crouch positioned the fuel tank on the deck because it utilized a gravity feed fuel system. The Commander McBragg was well received in the 2001 Boat Shows and won many awards while still powered with the V12. It is featured in the 2009 Book “The Gentleman’s Racer” Antique to Contemporary Wooden Race Boats by Neil Honeyman. Do not miss the opportunity to view and own a truly one of a kind, high quality, custom built vintage Hydroplane style boat that will draw crowds where ever you take it. The custom fit trailer for this boat is available with sale. Spare motor and V-drive is also available. This vessel is located in the North Puget Sound area and can be seen by appointment. Always stored indoors when not being used. Price is $45,000. I have many more detailed photos, including construction, upon request.
